THE
KETTLEBELL
AN ANCIENT EXERCISE TOOL FOR MODERN TIMES
WHAT IS A KETTLEBELL
The
best way to describe a traditional Kettlebell is that it
looks like a cast iron cannon ball with a cast D handle
on top and a flat bottom that comes in various weights.
SHORT HISTORY
The
Kettlebell is at least 2000 years old and was used by the
ancient Greeks.
The word Kettlebell is believed to stem from Scotland but
it is the Russians that have really exploited the use of
the Kettlebell.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING A KETTLEBELL
The
Kettlebell is an excellent exercise tool for an all round
fitness workout. It is great for burning fat, building a
strong lean body and it will increase your stamina and endurance
and also works your core, balance and flexibility.
THE PEOPLE THAT USE KETTLEBELL
The clientele of the Kettlebell just keeps on growing. Famous
people such as Geri Halliwell, Penelope Cruz and Kate Beckinsale.
I even saw a picture of John Saxon from the Legendary Bruce
Lee film: Enter The Dragon, using a Kettlebell.
Sports stars such as Amir Khan (the boxer), and the Chelsea
Football Club are using Kettlebells.
It is a known fact that certain military and special forces
from Russia, USA and Britain are reaping the benefits of
training with Kettlebells.
For the last group of people I am going to mention are the
Martial Artists, this is where I discovered the humble Kettlebell
in the December 2006 issue of the Mixed Martial Arts magazine
‘Fighters’ where they had an article on how
the grapplers were using the Kettlebell to enhance their
performance in the cage and on the mat.
These are just a few of the groups of people using the Kettlebell
and now YOU can too.
